GRACEWORKS HOUSING SERVICES TO THANK DAYTON POLICE, FIRE
Dayton, Ohio (July 27, 2016) – On Tuesday, August 9 from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m., residents and staff of Redeemer and St. Mark apartment communities, located at 570 and 602 St. Paul Street in Dayton, respectively, will host a community celebration to thank police officers from the second district and city firefighters for their help during the year. The apartment communities share a parking lot, and the celebration will take place on the Redeemer side of the properties. Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley will join the festivities and briefly speak to the crowd. In addition to food and fellowship, there will also be games and door prizes and all attendees are eligible to win.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Lunch will be served from noon- 2 p.m.
The celebration will allow for residents of both communities to become better-acquainted with the officers and fire fighters serving them.
“This is our way of saying thanks to our first responders,” says Jennifer Tankersley manager of Redeemer Community. “Police and fire respond regularly to both Redeemer and St. Mark, and we want to show our appreciation for all their help. We are so proud of these great men and women in uniform.”
The communities are part of Graceworks Housing Services, a division of Graceworks Lutheran Services. Graceworks Housing Services helps adults age 62 and older with limited incomes or mobility impairment find safe and comfortable housing in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. St. Mark Community is the only Graceworks Housing Services property to cater solely to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
For 90 years, Graceworks Lutheran Services has provided a variety of nonprofit residential and community care services for senior adults, individuals with disabilities, and persons facing financial or personal challenges.
