Modern Women of America Help Luther Community Residents

luther-community-and-volunteersThanks to networking, employees at Luther, a Graceworks Housing Services Community in Bellefontaine, Ohio, recently began working with a local chapter of a non-profit organization called Modern Women of America.

Graceworks Housing Services provides safe and affordable apartments for low income seniors in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Sharon Alexander of Modern Women of America reached out to Luther Community, inquiring about a service project.

LeAnnea Taylor, Service Coordinator for Luther, explained the community’s needs and made a list of items her 36 residents needed. Such items included basic things like paper towels, laundry detergent, toothpaste and body wash.

Sharon and other volunteers of Modern Women of America dropped off boxes of pre-assembled packages on Monday, September 26th. There were two large packages for each resident filled with household supplies and personal care items. Nash Finch, a local supply company, helped provide many of the items.

Luther residents gathered in their community room for the surprise donations. Many were exceptionally thankful for the donations and compassion expressed by the Modern Women of America volunteers.
